CNRS-EUREQua (Paris): Graduate ScholarshipThe Paris School of Economics (PSE) and the University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, seek a Visiting PhD scholar for up to 18 months starting from October 2007 and ending April 2009. This person will work within and be funded by the EU´s Research and Training Network (RTN) "Microdata Methods and Practice". The other organisations involved in the Network are CAM (Copenhagen), cemmap (London), PSE (Paris), Tinbergen Institute (Rotterdam and Amsterdam), and IFAU (Uppsala).ResearchMuch of the research to be conducted by the Network falls under the following substantive themes: Consumer behaviour and economic welfare; Policy and programme evaluation methods; The empirical analysis of games and auctions; Methods for longitudinal/panel data analysis; Labour markets; and Health. These six themes and the Network's general interest in methodological development, will serve as focal points for training, research collaboration and interaction between partners in the Network and affiliated nodes. TrainingThe Network has an extensive training programme, which includes doctoral programme courses, short courses, master-classes, workshops, international conferences and seminars and network meetings. The doctoral student will be able to choose from the wide variety of training offered by the Network partners. ProfileA suitable candidate for this post is an advanced PhD student working on a dissertation with a substantive quantitative component, who has already done part of his/her doctoral research work, and would like to do another part working at PSE for up to 18 monthsr under the supervision of Jean-Marc Robin and David Margolis. Eligible candidates are nationals from a European Union Member or Associated State (not French) or non-EU nationals if they have been resident in the EU (not in France) for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. Candidates should not have been resident in France for more then 12 months out of the last 36 months immediately prior to the start date. French nationals are eligible if they have been resident outside the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. The Network can appoint some non-EU nationals that have not been resident in the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. The successful candidate will register as a full-time Ph.D. student at the Universite de Paris 1 - Pantheon - Sorbonne. The EU-funded scholarship will be for 18 months. The basic living allowance will be Euro 31,985 per year with a further monthly mobility allowance of Euro 523 for single and Euro 837 for researchers with a partner and/or children. Both basic allowance and mobility allowance are subject to French taxes and national insurance.
