Tinbergen Institute (Netherlands): Post-Doctoral ScholarshipThe Tinbergen Institute seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher for a period of two years. This person will work within and be funded by the EU's new Research and Training Network (RTN) "Microdata Methods and Practice". This network bundles the strongest European research teams in econometric research with microdata. The other organisations involved in the Network are CAM (Copenhagen), CEMFI (Madrid), CNRS-EUREQua (Paris), Cemmap/IFS (London) and IFAU (Uppsala). ResearchThe research conducted by the Network has a strong methodological emphasis. The empirical projects fall under the following substantive themes: Consumer behaviour and economic welfare; Policy and programme evaluation methods; The empirical analysis of games and auctions; Methods for longitudinal/panel data analysis; Labour markets; and Health. There will be extensive interaction and collaboration between network and team members. TrainingThe Network has an extensive training programme which includes doctoral programme courses, short courses, master-classes, workshops, international conferences and seminars and network meetings. The post-doctoral researcher will be able to choose from the wide variety of training offered by the Network partners. ProfileTo be considered for this post, a candidate must have recently obtained a PhD degree in economics. The degree must have a substantial quantitative component. Eligible candidates are nationals from a European Union Member or Associated States (not The Netherlands) or non-EU nationals if they have been resident in the EU (not The Netherlands) for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. Candidates should not have been resident in The Netherlands for more then 12 months out of the last 36 months immediately prior to the start date. Citizens of The Netherlands are eligible if they have been resident outside the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. The Network can appoint some non-EU nationals that have not been resident in the EU for more than 4 out of the last 5 years. The EU funded scholarship will be for two years. The researcher will be appointed as employee of the Free University Amsterdam, which is one of the partners of the Tinbergen Institute, jointly with the University of Amsterdam and the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The basic living allowance for a post-doctoral position in The Netherlands will be Euro 48833 per year with a further mobility allowance of Euro 520 per month for single and Euro 831 for researchers with a partner and/or children. There are also travel allowances and career development allowances. The researcher may qualify for certain sizeable reductions of income taxes.
